Marie McCormick

Co-Founder and Principal

Marie brings 25 years of experience and loves her work today more than ever. Clients value Marie’s ability to create an environment conducive to honest, critical and generative conversations and her ability to move from those conversations to real and sustainable action. Her work builds on the belief that real and sustainable change only happens when there is a focus not only on the external journey of change – strategy moving to action – but also on each person’s internal journey. Helping participants bring both heart and mind to the dialogue, her work has produced extraordinary results.

Marie is a Senior Practitioner of the Presencing Institute. In addition to her Ph.D. in organizational development, she holds an MBA with a concentration in finance. Prior to her work as a consultant, Marie worked in the private sector in the areas of finance, project management and marketing. Marie lives in Villanova, PA with her husband Pat and enjoys time with her adult children and her new grandson!

How do you re-generate? I bookend my days with mindfulness, setting aside time twice a day to tune into my breath and slow down. I try to walk at least 3 miles every day. I love poetry, epic dinners, and last, but best of all, spending time with my new grandson.

What do you hope never changes post-COVID? Over the summer, our adult kids moved back in with us. My daughter and I cooked together most nights, and the family enjoyed great dinners, mostly outside in the backyard. I enjoyed this slow time at home with everyone all together. I don’t want to lose any of that.

What is your superpower? I am not afraid to try new things or make mistakes. I love to jump into challenges head and heart first and am the queen of the “SFD” (our very “technical term” for “sh**tty first draft”). People tell me I am also  pretty good at handling fraught conflictual situations in a way that seems to address the situation head-on, but with a gentle touch.

What’s something interesting about you we wouldn’t otherwise know? I am an avid tricyclist.

What is the question your life seeks to answer? How do we give voice to ALL people on issues that matter the most to them?

What have you learned about the conditions for success? A good, committed leader who is open to what is needed and wanted by their organization or eco-system and who is unafraid  of making a tough decision or taking a strong stand. A task that matters. Shoulder-to-shoulder partnership between our client and us.

What is your guilty pleasure? Topping my list is Graters Coffee Chip ice cream and Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc.
