North Star Alignment: Jewish Studio Project

A young organization founded by spouses Rabbi Adina Allen and Jeff Kasowitz, Jewish Studio Project was ready for its first-ever strategic planning process. Wanting to avoid traditional corporate methods, JSP brought Insyte in to guide the organization on a journey of discovery.  The result was this strategic plan, designed to take the organization through the inflection point of shifting from being a small founder organization to expanding its reach across the US.

Moving through all the phases of the U, including activities like learning journeys, “voices from the field” and 3-D sculpting——plus, of course, JSP’s own art-based process—— we helped the team listen deeply across the ecosystem, discern the elements of the emerging future that would allow them to increase their impact and deepen their connection to mission, and ultimately provide a beacon for their growing community and partners to stay aligned and on purpose.

We brought in our  graphic facilitation partner Chrissie Bonner from Illustrating Progress to scribe the journey. Chrissie’s images helped the team access their own deep wisdom, and create beautiful art for the final product.

“Seriously, I am not exaggerating when I say that I look at our strategic plan everyday, and it is literally serving as our north star for every decision we make as an organization.”
